Koru Communication, headquartered in NSW, Australia, is a communication consultancy expert in the development and implementation of targeted, innovative and effective communication strategies/campaigns.

How it all began

Koru was founded to focus on an often-neglected area—communication, and safety communication in particular. We tend to make assumptions about communication: as Irish playwright, George Bernard Shaw, said ‘The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion it has taken place’.

Why Koru?

The koru (Māori for ‘loop’) is a spiral shape based on an unfurling silver fern. It is an integral symbol in New Zealand Māori art, symbolising new life, growth, strength and peace.

Margo Marchbank, director of Koru Communication, spent her formative years in New Zealand. Drawing on the power of the koru as a symbol of growth—Koru Communication can strengthen your organisation through our extensive experience in all aspects of communication.


What we do

Koru focuses on delivering effective communication, by developing and implementing targeted, timely and innovative communication strategies/campaigns.

Core to effective communication is content. Koru has extensive experience in creating engaging, accessible and tailored content for a variety of audiences, sectors and platforms. Koru director, Margo Marchbank has over 20-years experience in communication, with a particular expertise in developing content to promote safety awareness and compliance, and in making technical content accessible.

Koru’s group of editorial, video and graphic design specialists have a proven record of delivering innovative content. Koru also has longstanding expertise in publishing, whether hard copy, online, or developing apps and app content.
