In 2013, worked with subject matter experts, graphic designers and videographers to produce a user-friendly human factors resource kit for engineers, following the successful format of the parallel 2009 kit for pilots, produced by CASA.
Developed content for the kit, especially the comprehensive resource book and workbook, covering HF issues such as error management, leadership, human performance, stress, decision making, communication, and professionalism, among others; and project managed the kit’s production.
‘I have never seen a more professional and comprehensive package than Safety Behaviours: Human Factors for Engineers. It is the new international yardstick (or metric ruler) by which other human factors training programs will be measured.’
Dr Bill Johnson, the then US Federal Aviation Administration’s engineering human factors expert, reviewed the kit favourably in his article ‘Support for Human Factors Training: Look Down Under’ for the September 2013 issue of the aviation maintenance magazine – AMT.
